Last year I started getting back into photography starting in April with a friends wedding. She called in a friend favor because her photographer backed out on her a month before the wedding. Talk about stressful! So I agreed and thus began the year of weddings. I was also asked to second shoot with my very very very good friend Angie (Angie English Photography). We have a BLAST shooting! It makes weddings even more fun! Here are a bunch of my favorite shots from 2012.

It's Senior Rep time!

Are you a current Junior who will be graduating in 2014?
Want to get your Senior session for free?
Want some great photos for your Facebook?
What about free prints?

KDP is now seeking high school senior representatives for the 2013/2014 school year.  If you are currently a high school junior or know a high school junior who might like to be a senior rep, here’s what you need to know.

If accepted, you will be representing Katy Davis Photography and telling your friends about our Senior Sessions throughout your senior year. Be sure to let your Junior friends know also, so they will have a chance to apply for the 2014 program! For every friend you refer us to, you will receive special discounts on your print orders.

In order to be a senior rep, you must:
• Have great style, lots of personality and enjoy being in front of the camera (the latter is the MOST important)
• Attend one of the following schools: Greenwood, Whiteland, Franklin, Center Grove, Franklin Central, Perry, Southport (Am I missing one? Let me know!)
• Be available for your shoot by May 1, 2013.
 • Agree to tell your friends and classmates about Katy Davis Photography and share your senior portraits with them.
• Have your parents or legal guardians sign a model release form.
• Agree to represent ONLY Katy Davis Photography and use these images as your senior pictures.

As part of the senior rep program you'll receive the following:
• Free photo session(s) with unlimited clothing changes. Photos may be completed in one or more sessions with a possibility of multiple locations.
• The opportunity to earn print credit for every person they refer for senior portraits.
• 50 personalized referral cards to give to friends and classmates with your name, your portraits, and our Business information to hand out to friends
• Several of our favorite photos as low-resolution files to share on Facebook  (with
our logo on them).
• Discounts on your print orders
•Book of 4x6 proofs to show friends and classmates.

If this sounds at all interesting to you, please email Tell me about yourself! I am looking for one boy and one girl from each school. It's first come, first served so act fast! :)

In honor of the supposed snow storm....

Back in January it snowed...a lot. I've always wanted to do a snow shoot. They always look so dreamy, and fun. Plus I super love the snow. But only in December and January.

You hear that weather? I'm done with the cold. Bring on summer please!

Anyway...I expressed my desire to do a senior shoot in the snow and Madison was the first person to respond. I've known Madison for a couple years now, she's the oldest of 6 (YES. 6) amazing kids. I seriously want to sit down with her parents and pick their brains. Every single kid is always so well behaved and courteous and friendly. For real...they're great kids.

I didn't really have any ideas on where I wanted to do the snow shoot...but Madison did; and I'm so glad she picked!! This place WAS AWESOME. I'm taking their family photos there in the spring/summer and I can't wait to see what it looks like green and lush!

P.s. Madison showed up in red denim and a gray polka dot sweater. Yup, girl after my own heart.

Hostetter Family

I literally grew up with Scott. I have known him my entire life (or as long as I can remember). He isn't technically family. Not in the biological sense anyway, but he (and the rest of the Hostetters) are just as much my family as my actual family. We refer to each other as cousins in fact. Because that's how it has always felt! Scott went on SO many family trips with us as kids too. I have also known Kim, his wife, for a long time too. In fact, I remember when they started dating and Kim and Scott took me and my brother out for ice cream. The whole family has been through a lot in the past few years. More than this family deserves, but they're strong and they're close and I love them!

Kim asked me back in December if I would take some breast feeding type of photos with her and their baby girl Avery. I had never done anything like that before (and hadn't really heard much about it) I googled (And she googled) ideas. Now, I can't show you the entire shoot...way too personal. I did catch some great shots of them hanging around the house. It basically turned into a lifestyle shoot. Lifestyle shoots are my JAM. I mean's like paparazzi but not scary. You hang out, do what you normally do, and I just take your picture. :) We had so much fun laughing and goofing off. The breast feeding photos turned out simply beautiful, so I definitely encourage you to think about getting them done if you're on your last baby, or even if you aren't. :)
